Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP)
Empowering Learners through NEP 2020
Santal Pargana College, Dumka adopts the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) as approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), aligning with the transformative vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This program offers a flexible, multidisciplinary framework that empowers students to tailor their academic journey according to individual interests and career goals.
The FYUGP spans four years and incorporates multiple entry and exit options to enhance accessibility and inclusivity:
- After 1 year: Undergraduate Certificate
- After 2 years: Undergraduate Diploma
- After 3 years: Bachelor’s Degree
- After 4 years: Bachelor’s Degree with Honours or Research
The credit structure includes 120 credits for a three-year degree and 160 credits for a four-year honours degree. Students aspiring for research specialization must achieve a minimum of 75% marks across the first six semesters. A key highlight is the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), which allows seamless transition from a three-year to a four-year program via bridge courses. Students who exit early may rejoin within three years, with the flexibility to complete their degree within a maximum of seven years.
This progressive model fosters academic freedom, interdisciplinary learning, and long-term career readiness.
